Whether you are required to provide a face-to-face brief to your RPD, the Installation Commanding Officer (ICO), or the Installation N9 is a matter of local practice. You may simply be asked to provide them with your analysis and your plan of action in the form of a memo or over the phone. Whether a brief or memo, it is recommended that you include the following:

• Financial status of your Program
• Possible cause(s) if your execution is unfavorable
• Monthly Budget Status Report (or other report as required) with key data or figures highlighted
• Issues and concerns related to your Program's financial execution
• Steps to take or actions you would recommend, to bring your Program's execution back in line
• Assistance you may need from higher authority
