Brainstorming
When money is tight and operational requirements are at risk, a Manager has to facilitate an atmosphere that allows the whole staff to become creative problem solvers.

Invite creative problem-solving and constructive feedback from your staff by following these brainstorming guidelines:
  • Identify a specific goal to enhance revenue or reduce expenses
  • Set and keep to a time limit
  • Keep the session relaxed
  • Open the session with an idea of your own or from a volunteer
  • Do not allow judgment of ideas during brainstorming
  • Include all ideas presented
  • Encourage piggy-backing on ideas
  • Ensure that all ideas are valued
  • Write everything down as it is spoken
  • Ask for more ideas
